Reducing Your Car Insurance Continued...

3) Is it Secure? - If you have a sporty/expensive car, it will usually be mandatory that you have a Thatcham approved alarm/immobiliser installed in your car. This makes it much more difficult for thieves to steal your car. It is important that you have the device installed by an approved technician because there are certain standards that must be adhered to.

A good alarm will not only reduce your car insurance, it could save your car.

4) Additional Qualifications - This isn't as important for older drivers, but young drivers can usually reduce their car insurance by getting some of the additional qualifications on offer such as Pass Plus. Some companies currently offer 1 years no claims bonus for Pass Plus, though it is advisable you ring around first to find out who will accept it.

5) Is that Level of Cover Appropriate? - There's no point taking out fully comprehensive insurance for a car that's only valued at £100. If it's not worth much take, out the minimum level of insurance.

6) Don't Over Estimate - An insurance company will only pay out on the MARKET VALUE of your car, don't over estimate the value. You won't get that back and you'll be paying more for your car insurance.

These are some simple tips to reduce your car insurance which we hope will be of use to all our readers.
