Cheap car insurer stands up to be counted

Cheap car insurers have discovered that unions are, as of today, mounting an all out media assault via newspaper, press and radio campaigns, in, and through which, they are attempting to call for the outright boycott of Citroen and Peugeot cars; and for people in this country to concentrate their efforts on the purchasing of British vehicles. Amicus, who's in-house creative team, along with the Trade and General Workers Unions have preparing this £2 million campaign to encourage the boycott of the French car manufacturer and raise awareness of members in other unions about the closure of the Ryton car factory near Coventry; news which this cheap car insurer brought to you recently.

The newspaper ads are being placed for today, in a cross-section of what organisers consider to be relevant journals, such as The Mirror and The Guardian; aswell as comprehensive radio coverage, and, even more focused, outdoor activity that will follow up the initial broadcasts, resulting in large billboard ads that are to be posted as near to regional Peugeot dealers as possible. Amicus General Secretary Derek Simpson is reported as saying: "We are saying if you don't build here then don't expect to sell here. We believe that the wider British public will want to send a powerful message and a drop in sales will really hit them where it hurts."

The campaign organisers hope that with World Cup fever set to take hold across England, then now really is a God-given time to tap into the sweeping sense of patriotism. The ads will direct people to union websites that list manufacturers who build all or part of their cars in the UK. These include Ford, Aston Martin, General Motors, Toyota, Honda, Nissan and BMW. Ryton employs 2,300 workers and the plants closure is expected in early 2007, if you recall Peugeot announced in April that the factory was to close at this scheduled point, when production would move to France and Slovakia, with the loss of the outlined 2,300 jobs. Tony Woodley, T&G General Secretary, said of the car company: "Peugeot is motivated by sheer greed and needs to understand that there will be painful consequences if they shut up shop in Britain in this fashion." Whether you intend to add your support to this or not, cheap car insurers such as Quotedetective.com, will continue to insure your vehicle, Peugeot or not, as normal. And as cheaply as normal too.
