Reducing Your Motor Insurance

There are plenty of ways for you to reduce your car insurance, we'd like to tell you some of the easiest ways to save yourself hundreds of pounds a year on your motor insurance.

1) Opt for a Voluntary Excess - One of the easiest way to reduce your motor insurance is to opt for a voluntary excess. This will usually be as well as your standard excess that applies to all policies. So if your standard excess is £250 and you take a voluntary excess of £150, your total excess on a claim would be £400.

2) Don't Add Unnecessary Extra Drivers - Many parents will put their sons and daughters onto their car insurance "just in case". The fact is young drivers are extremely high risk, especially in your brand new car costing thousands of pounds. Don't put them on there unless they need to be there.

There is an exception to this rule though. Young drivers may wish to add their parents providing they have good driving records(i.e. no points/accidents) to their policy. We have seen car insurance policies go down by £150 simply by adding their mother onto their motor insurance.
